This device provides a backbone link to your switched workgroup or a server fat-pipe link with 8 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet ports.  Under such a flexible architecture, users can easily plan the network without bandwidth and media limitation. Store-and-forward switching mode promises the low latency plus eliminates all the network errors, including runt and CRC error packets.

How does it save power consumption?

1.Cable Length Detecting Function

With smart cable length detecting technology,INGS800G can detect the length of Ethernet cable which connects to the device to make power adjustment.   If the cable length is shorter, it will requests less power, if the cable length is longer, it will requests more power automatically.    See  the Lab test result.    Different cable length will have different power consumption with smart cable length detecting technology.   However, the power consumption of 10M cable length is same as 100M cable without smart cable length technology support.

2.Sleeping Mode Function

Notebooks or computers will not  be powered on all the time.  When computer is turned off,  switch still continue to consume power. (Switch power adapter is still on)   But Infosmart INGS800G will put the port in a “Sleeping Mode” to reduce power usage and save energy if there is no cable link.     Please see Lab test result as follows.
